Community Outreach
Co-Chairs, Sabrina Boges-Krull and Eunice McKnight
This committee is responsible for planning community service projects for
the chapter. Previous projects included: BINGO with the residents at the
J. O. Chiles Senior Residence Center, Adopt-A-Highway, Clothing
Donations,
Toy Donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, School Supply Drive, etc.
Programs Committee (Fundraising/Activities)
Co-Chairs: Sharon Wright and Maurice Granger (interim)
This committee plans, organizes, and promotes our fundraising activities as
well as solicits donations and contributions from individuals and corporations.
Our fundraisers include, but are not limited to: Scholarship & Awards Brunch,
Golf Tournament, etc. This committee is also responsible for planning social
gatherings for the chapter. Additional events include: Atlanta Football Classic
weekend activities, Holiday Party, Bus Rides to TSU football games, etc.
Membership Committee
Co-Chairs: Crystal Harris and Kelli Rowsey
This committee is responsible for welcoming new members, generating new
ideas and strategies to recruit new members, and reclaiming previous members.
This committee works closely with the Program Committee.
Public Relations Committee
Co-Chairs, Bianca Shelby and Mitchell Shelby
This committee is responsible for publicizing chapter events through various
media outlets, publishing the chapter's newsletter (The BIG BLUE Quarterly),
and assisting the Fundraising Committee in its efforts to increase donations.
The PR Committee is also responsible for finding innovative ways to utilize
technology to enhance the chapter’s marketing strategies.
Student Relations Committee (formerly the Scholarship
Committee)
Co-Chairs: Jada Wright and Rod Johnson
This committee is responsible for finding ways to engage Atlanta area high school
students and our current TSU students. The committee also handles all requests
for chapter funded scholarships including the selection of the recipient(s) to be
awarded. Additionally, this committee ensures our representation at local college
fairs, organizes the Annual TSU Campus Tour, etc.
Technology Committee
Chair: Patricia Livingston
This committee maintains the chapter website and e-mail distribution list. This
committee also makes recommendations to the chapter regarding methods to
increase the use of technology to meet current standards.
